My Career

Goodbye College

Oh no, what do I do now?

Barcode Scanning at Scanbuy

Barcodes are the future!

Scanbuy ( is all about barcodes. When I first arrived I was programming laser scanners to order office supplies and when I left we were scanning all manner of barcode with cameras on smart phones including being among the first to use the now ubiquitous QR Code for commercial applications.

The Higher Education Journey Begins

I hit the ground running. Within a few months we completely redesigned the website including a custom CMS created entirely by me in PHP and MySQL. I also began to learn about the unique challenges that comes with working in higher education.

I guess I'm doing something right

With my boss departing I was promoted to Director of Web Technology and suddenly I was in charge of the colleges web presence. Using WordPress I began creating supporting sites for the college in addition to maintaining the custom CMS I had created earlier.
