My Career
2001

Goodbye College

Oh no, what do I do now?

Out of college I attempt to join the workforce. Hell bent on staying in NYC I pound the pavement trying to find the place where I can showcase my development skills.

2002

Barcode Scanning at Scanbuy

Barcodes are the future!

Scanbuy (www.scanbuy.com) is all about barcodes. When I first arrived I was programming laser scanners to order office supplies and when I left we were scanning all manner of barcode with cameras on smart phones including being among the first to use the now ubiquitous QR Code for commercial applications.

2005

On to the Digital Intelligence Group

So this is client work

This is where I got my first taste of client work. Creating sites for Captain Morgan and other national brands was an eye opening experience. I learned a lot about how to and how not to manage these clients and projects while extending my knowledge of how technology can support large marketing efforts and reach consumers more effectively.

2006

Definitive Starting Date

My Project Managemnt Education Begins

Little did I know that in my time at www.definitivengagement.com I was about to learn how to manage many projects and clients at one time. As the only full time developer I had my hand in everything including managing freelancers. Tons of .NET and Classic ASP development in addition to managing a Windows Server housing all of the client sites.

2007

Started at St. Joseph’s College

The Higher Education Journey Begins

I hit the ground running. Within a few months we completely redesigned the website including a custom CMS created entirely by me in PHP and MySQL. I also began to learn about the unique challenges that comes with working in higher education.

2011

Leveled Up

I guess I'm doing something right

With my boss departing I was promoted to Director of Web Technology and suddenly I was in charge of the colleges web presence. Using WordPress I began creating supporting sites for the college in addition to maintaining the custom CMS I had created earlier.
